Industry veterans Titus, Vaadi, Sierra join team at X RACING for 2027
Former racers bring years of experience, deep passion for snowmobiles
ELK RIVER, Minnesota (Nov. 5, 2026) — Officials at X RACING are proud to announce the addition of three snowmobile race industry veterans Nathan Titus, Chip Vaadi and Junior Sierra to the team for the upcoming 2027 season. Each brings years of experience and a deep passion for the sport's future.
“These guys have been around racing a long time, and will do great work for us,” X RACING president Joe Duncan said. “I've known all three for many years; Nathan was racing back when I ran the old WSA circuit; Chip has been involved out East for years; as has our good friend Junior Sierra.
“Junior has worked at our events in the past, so he knows how we do things. Nathan and Chip can each contribute in many ways, I'm thrilled to have them on board. We were fortunate to bring Hall of Famer Joey Hallstrom on board for this winter, now these three veterans add even more depth to our team.”
Titus is an Idaho native with an extensive resume in racing and the powersports industry. He won major Cross Country and snocross races during a storied career, riding for major teams at Polaris and Yamaha.
Most recently, he works as a snowmobile specialist and marketing/logistics manager at Western Power Sports (WPS), a large Idaho-based powersports distributor. Titus headed up research and development on a popular Snow Bike conversion kit for WPS.
“I'm super excited to be hooked up with X RACING,” Titus said. “We're working hard to establish a Western division for Joe's SUNDAY FUNDAY and HILLCROSS series. We have a couple of venues that have shown interest, so we're working to get them signed. There is some good potential out here.
“The biggest challenge we face here in Idaho is the long distances between everything. So we need to ensure we choose sites people can access, close to population centers. We want racers and fans to be able to get there within a reasonable drive. Hillclimbs are all we have Idaho for sanctioned sled races.”
It's the shared goal of ensuring a solid future for affordable, accessible snowmobile racing that draws peoplem like Titus, Vaadi and Sierra to the X RACING team.
“I love Joe's approach to keep grassroots racing alive,” Titus added. “With this smart concept of having classes for everyday sleds, and tracks that are tamed down a little yet still racy and fun, I feel like it can take off here. I'm excited to get started.”
Vaadi has been riding snowmobiles since he was a young boy. He started his racing career in the early 1990s, and has served our sport in a number of capacities. He won numerous races on a former regional touring series; and also operated the Big East Snocross Tour (B.E.S.T.) circuit back in the day.
Vaadi, of Mannsville, NY, owns a race team which features his son, Lucas, compete in Cross Country racing events in the Northeast. Chip will play a key role in X RACING's plans in the East this winter.
“Initially, the plan is for me to be on-site early and setting up some nice tracks,” Vaadi said. “I'll be working with Joe to layout the race courses, and am really looking forward to it. This has been a long time coming here in our part of the snowbelt. Joe is putting a big effort into building something solid.
“The days of high-flying snocross on the regional level are gone. The sport has evolved, and Joe is leading the charge with his SUNDAY FUNDAY concept of affordable, trimmed-down racing geared towards fun for the whole family. I'm excited to be on board, and can't wait to build some fun tracks.”
Junior Sierra, known affectionately as 'June Bug' to his friends, is a longtime snowmobile racer with a deep passion for our sport. A native of Derry, New Hampshire, Sierra rides his potent No. 33 Ski-doo entry when he isn't working as a race official.
He's already served X RACING in the past as an official, now he'll bring that experience to the table and learn even more as the series continues to grow. His racing knowledge and ability to work well with people add a great deal to the team.
“I am absolutely fired up to team up with X RACING this winter,” Sierra said. “Having Nathan and Chip in the mix with me means we're coming into this season with a ton of momentum and the right crew. Joe runs a top-tier program; we're hungry to get out on the snow and show what we can do.
“Winter can't get here fast enough.”
The 2027 event schedule will be released, with several exciting new venues on the horizon.
