X Racing Announces Dates for New Events in Bingham, Maine
Riverside Breakfast & BBQ to host two weekends of competition
BINGHAM, Maine (Oct. 29, 2026) — Officials at X RACING have announced two more race dates for their 2027 Northeast snowmobile racing series. On Feb. 6-7 and Feb. 27-28, teams will converge on Riverside Breakfast & BBQ for SNOWCROSS, Snow Drags and SUNDAY FUNDAY competition.
Bingham is a scenic town in western Maine situated close to Skowhegan, which has a rich history in sanctioned snowmobile racing. From the Glory Days of snow ovals, to modern-day snocross events at the Fairgrounds, it allowed families a chance to enjoy the thrills of racing during the winter months.
“We're beyond excited to be taking our brand of Grassroots racing to Maine,” X RACING president Joe Duncan said. “This area has been hosting big-time snowmobile races since snow ovals were King. We hope snowmobile enthusiasts around Western and Central Maine will turn out to be part of the fun.
“Maine is such a Mecca for snowmobilers in general; the trails there are second-to-none. That area receives ample amounts of snow every winter. I'm confident we'll have a great track for our race teams to enjoy. We're going to have two weekends full of exciting racing, and big fun for folks to enjoy.”
Scott Robertson is the owner at Riverside Breakfast & BBQ, located inside the lodge at North Country Rivers, a respected Outdoor Adventure company. He says the property is ideal to host sled racing.
“We're excited to be bringing events of this size to Bingham,” Robertson said. “Joe Duncan and his crew run a professional show I know folks are going to love. When local snowmobilers got wind of this, their response was incredible. We're located in the heart of Maine's 'Snowmobile Heaven' here.
“People will be able to ride a groomed ITS trail right to the event. We're a little over an hour from the town of Rangeley, a destination for trail riders. We're right on the Kennebec River, so even if Mother Nature doesn't deliver the snow, we can make it if we need to do so. All of our bases are covered.”
Some may look at Bingham on a map, and ask how far they'll need to travel for certain services.
“We'll have great food at our restaurant, and lodging available on-site,” Robertson added. “The 40-mile Kennebec Valley Trail (KVT) allows people coming up from southern Maine a nice, smooth ride right up here to the races. So it's a great location for spectators and racers alike.
“We're only about 45 minutes north of Interstate 95, and a lot of people know about Route 201 up to Jackman, a favorite spot among active trail riders. I just feel like with the services and amenities we have on-site, the highway access and top-notch local trails, we have the perfect host venue up here.”
Instrumental in putting these events together in Bingham is X RACING's Jesse Knights, of Skowhegan. Knights has worked with Robertson and is helping to secure marketing partners for these races.
“I have been going up to Riverside for breakfast on Sundays for a while now,” Knights said. “I started talking with Scott about the possibility of hosting a race there. A big draw is the fact they have a grass airstrip, one of the last ones still active in the summer. It's a flat 40-acre parcel of land.
“This gives us plenty of room for three types of racing; SNOWCROSS, Snow Drags, and all of Joe's SUNDAY FUNDAY classes. I miss the atmosphere we had back in the day when races were held at the Skowhegan Fairgrounds. I'm excited to be working with Scott to bring that back to Maine.”
Riverside Breakfast & BBQ is located inside the Main Lodge at North Country Rivers, Maine's Premier Outdoor Adventure Outfitter. The company was born in 1983 in The Forks, Maine. Today, they've expanded beyond Whitewater Rafting to include camping, ATV and even Snowmobile trips.
X RACING is a sanctioning body for snowmobile racing based in Elk River, Minnesota. The company strives to maintain healthy regional race circuits in the upper Midwest and Northeast to keep the sport thriving. It operates with the goal of providing FUN, SAFE and AFFORDABLE racing action.
